Mar 29, 2009 I Lazaroo.

“In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken by Jeremiah, the LORD moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and to put it in writing.”
(Ezra 1:1)

This verse proves You have the power to make a nation’s leaders do what You want them to do.

It also demonstrates that at specific times, You are absolutely willing to exercise that power!

So why do You permit the world’s leaders to commit atrocities?  And why do you not force them to do some of the things Your Word says they should?

I’m baffled, Jesus.

But I trust Your vastly superior knowledge, goodness and judgment far above my own.

And so I will rest in this:

That when it is truly necessary, You will step in and make a nation’s leaders do whatever it takes to advance Your kingdom on this earth.

What I have struggled with more is when this principle hits closer to home. When marriages end, or the young die needlessly . . . that is what saps one’s faith. Knowing that God COULD intercede, but apparently doesn’t. I think that is what challenges us the most. However, it still remains: God knows. He sees. We trust.

I too am baffled by some of the things our world leaders are allowed to do. But having studied Daniel recently with my SG, I also understand that sometimes we get exactly what we deserve…just like the Jews who failed to follow the laws of God. Sometimes we are turned over to an unrighteous leader for a time. Is this to help us see how misguided we have become & so return us to His laws & graciousness? And I do know that He can change the hardest heart. So I will continue to pray for His superior judgement in His timing and for my continued patience till it is done.

Today’s Lazaroo was published on this site exactly as we set it to do early this morning. However, I did not receive it in my email box today. That could mean that our autoresponder failed to pick it up and send it out to everyone, as we have scheduled it to do.

Did anyone else fail to receive his or her Lazaroo this morning? If so, please let me know: [email protected].

If you did not receive your Lazaroo this morning, I deeply apologize. Yes, we are still in Beta, but that is no excuse. We are driven to make sure you can rely on your daily Lazaroo to be waiting for you each morning. When that fails to happen we are devastated.

There have been two other “send” failures. We identified and corrected both of them. Neither of those errors caused today’s issue. We pledge to you that we will do everything in our power to track down the cause of today’s failure and eliminate it.
