Apr 24, 2009 I Lazaroo.

“The LORD said to him, ‘Go, take to yourself an adulterous wife and children of unfaithfulness, because the land is guilty of the vilest adultery in departing from the LORD.’”
(Hosea 1:2)

I’m stunned, Jesus.

The assignment You gave this man affected his whole life!

He knew he couldn’t trust this woman from the moment he married her.  Every time he looked at her children, he was reminded of the other men to whom his wife had given herself.

Men who were not her husband at the time.

Which brought creeping up his spine the horrible awareness that she might be doing the same thing to him, the moment he left for work.

Are we so insensitive that it takes this to make us feel how much our sins hurt You?

…to help me understand how my unfaithfulness affects You?

How “natural” it is for us to downplay our own vileness! Psychologists have a name for this. So does God. Lord, break my heart with what breaks Yours.
