Apr 13, 2009 I Lazaroo.

“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”
(2 Peter 1:3)

You’ve already given me, “everything I need.”

Why do I have such a tough time believing that?

Officially, I do believe it.

But emotionally?  I struggle.  At this very moment there are areas of my life where I feel like You’re not even close to providing me with what I so desperately need.

Wait a minute.

This verse says these things come through my knowledge of You.

Jesus, are You saying my relationship with You has to come first – and only then can I expect to receive all these things I need?

Or is it even simpler than that?  That all I need…

…is You.

  1. Ken Ferry Says:

“Through these, he has given us his very great and prescious promises, so that through them we might PARTICIPATE IN HIS DIVINE NATURE, and so escape the corruption caused by evil desire. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness, and to goodness knowledge, and to knowledge self control, and to self control godliness, and to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 2: 4-8, NIV as best as I can remember – emphasis added).

Arguably one of the most powerful passages of scripture in existence!
