How many times do I do this to You, LORD?

How often do I consult Google, a friend, a book, a mentor, some “expert,” my own experience – instead of starting with You?

I’m grateful that You speak to me through people, experiences, culture, resources.  But when I begin by turning to them, I often forget to listen for You.

I know it hurts You when I have a need or question and You’re not my first thought. 

It hurts me, too.  It cripples me.  You’re the only one who truly knows.  Everyone else is just guessing.

You deserve first place in my life, Jesus. 

You demand it.

Holy Spirit, please prompt me throughout this day and every day:

You first.
