Apr 26, 2009 I Lazaroo.

“The LORD roars from Zion and thunders from Jerusalem.”
(Amos 1:2)

Wow.

Forgive me for the times I’ve forgotten that this too, is You.

I confess I would rather think of You as humble, gentle, tender, merciful, compassionate and gracious.  Without question, You are all of that and more!

But may I always remember:

Who You once were…You still are.

You haven’t gone soft in Your old age.  You are still the Majestic One before whom the greats of old bowed low in reverent fear.

Yesterday, today and forever, Jesus, You remain the Consuming Fire who made a whip out of cords and drove the moneychangers from Your temple.

O Father!  I love these times of intimacy, as I come boldly before Your throne of grace.

But may I never fail to do so in humble, holy awe.

Lord, help me find the balance between my reverence for you with times I need you to be Abba. Thank you that you are a “daddy” that is worthy of all praise.
