Lazaroo – Thursday, June 11, 2009

Jun 11, 2009 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with pure devotion:

“Blessed is the man who does not sit in the seat of mockers.”
(Psalms 1:1)

Please don’t let me sit in that seat, Jesus.

Keep hostility far from my eyes.

Deliver me from arrogant pride.

Inspire me to invite correction from others and love those who rebuke me.

Help me humble myself by seeking counsel from those wiser than I.

No matter what the provocation, may I refuse to stir up trouble.  Remind me that I do not have to get in the last word.

May I never insult anyone created in Your image.

I am willing to be hated and despised:

because I say what You say

and do what You command me to do.

But may no one be justified in detesting me because I have committed any of these sins…

…and taken the seat of a mocker.

This is a very important concept for believers. Some speak for Jesus when, Jesus probably would not speak in the same manner – or even with the same message. This alienates people from God. God doesn’t need a verbal body guard. He needs His people to be loving and humble.
