Lazaroo – Tuesday, May 19, 2009
May 19, 2009 I Lazaroo.“He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
(1 Corinthians 1:8)
I really needed to hear this today, Jesus.
At times I feel so weak.
No matter how hard I try, I come up short.
Why can’t I keep the promises I’ve made to You? Why can’t I live up to my own standards – let alone Yours?
I get so frustrated with myself!
And then I read this.
You are my strength. It is You who will keep me strong – not only for the rest of this day, week, month and year…
But all the way to the end.
Nor will I arrive on that final day of my journey as poor an excuse for a Christian as I am right now.
I will blameless.
Blameless???!!!
This I can’t wait to see.

Wow! What a powerful promise. The Greek word translated “keep you strong” can also be translated, “make firm, establish, confirm, make sure,” and a variant is translated “make steadfast.” Today we might say, “set in concrete.”
And what a challenge! Stop trying and simply start being!
