Lazaroo – Friday, January 15, 2010
Jan 15, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, from the depths of your soul:
“‘I will turn my hand against Ekron, till the last of the Philistines is dead,’ says the Sovereign LORD.”
(Amos 1:8)
Most people don’t know You this way, Jesus.
To them, You’re more like Santa Claus, or a kindly old grandfather.
All they want is for You to
say “Yes!” to every one of their prayers
protect them from every pain or difficulty
and take them straight to heaven after they have lived an extraordinarily long, happy life on this earth.
But a God Who pledges to destroy those who willfully choose evil?
Huh-uh.
The very idea that You are like this repels them.
Terrifies them.
Keeping it real, I have to admit:
It terrifies me, too.
But knowing this about You doesn’t repel me.
Rather, it fills me with holy fear…awe…
and the additional motivation I need
to treat You with the passionate love, respect and obedience
You deserve.

I can not begin to truly understand all of GOD’S ways nor in the way of His works, but I will fear the Lord and love Him with the love He deserves and I am greatful for that fear. Corinthians 4:1-5
