Lazaroo – Friday, July 5, 2013
Jul 05, 2013 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with all your heart, soul, mind and strength:
“I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me…”
(Habakkuk 2:1)
I’ve been at my watch a long time, Jesus
stationing myself on the ramparts
(whatever those are).
Actually, I can guess what they are.
They’re my little wall of defense, aren’t they?
Totally inadequate…
but they’re all I’ve got
except for You.
Sometimes I think the defenses I’ve erected
are like Hollywood stage props
painted on canvas to look real and strong
but so flimsy that when tested
a child could push them over.
So here I am, standing at my watch
stationing myself on the concealed ladder
that props up my fake ramparts
looking…straining…longing…begging…
to see what You will say to me.
I don’t know how much longer I can hold out!
but I will
I must
…till I hear Your voice.

Thank you Pastor. Lazaroo always challenges to research further. Seems Habakkuk was waiting for the Lord’s reproof. Can’t say I look forward to the Lord’s reproof, however, I know it is sometimes necessary to wake me from my error & need for repentance. Oh if only, I could do everything by the book the first time, reflecting His faithfulness, but when I fail, I tend to do it miserably. Thankfully God doesn’t give up on His children and provides a quiet ‘timeout corner’ for reflection, dispelling the noises that distract, training my ears to be attentive to His voice & instruction. The old adage, ‘Silence is golden’, truly is, when spent before a Holy God! …Let all the earth be silent before Him.” Habakkuk 2:20b
