Lazaroo – Friday, June 18, 2010

Jun 18, 2010 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with utter dependence on God:

“Now the house of Joseph attacked Bethel, and the LORD was with them.”
(Judges 1:22)

It doesn’t matter who attacks me, Jesus.

What matters is whether You are on the side of my attackers

or with me.

There are some people who judge me

disagree with me
just plain don’t like me
but keep their opinions to themselves.

There are others, however, who go on the attack.

Some of them attack me from hiding

say things against me behind my back
and there’s nothing I can do to stop them.

Still others…braver, perhaps, because they are so certain I am in the wrong

say harsh things to my face
dare me to defend myself.

But the more I try to explain my words and actions
the guiltier I sound.

O God, You are my Defender!

not because I am guiltless, sinless, innocent

but because I belong to You.

  1. Lady B. Says:

The word of God says “If someone slaps you on the right cheek, offer the other cheek also.” Matthew 5:39 NLT
“Don’t Strike Back!!” Ever think that perhaps your anger is just a by-product of the resentment you’ve allowed to invade your soul. I have done so. That’s hard for me to acknowledge, but true. You must ask God for help so that you can get on top of the situation that causes you to be resentful. If not, your’re just spinning your wheels going no where fast. We all must change according to God’s Word. That means spending time with God, allowing Him to five give your resentments, remove your pain, heal your memories and enable you to love as He loves you again.
And that’s a job for God. Don’t try it without Him! Why don’t you pray this prayer: “Father, I want to act in love, not react in anger. Instead of being short-tempered and striking back, help me to be patient and turn the other cheek, Today let Your love rule my life, for Christ’s sake, Amen.” That’s a prayer God will answer, for His Word says, “Above all things have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins.”(1Peter 4:8) NKJV
