Lazaroo – Friday, May 27, 2011

May 27, 2011 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, from the depths of your soul:

“…with the help of our God we dared to tell you his gospel in spite of strong opposition.”
(1 Thessalonians 2:2)

Why, Jesus?

Why is there such strong opposition to Your gospel?

I see it in people’s eyes
I hear it in the tone of their voices.

I live in a world where almost any religious expression is tolerated.

But the moment someone mentions Your Name –

“Jesus!”

there’s reaction, resistance…even anger.

Why? It makes no sense!

Yours is the most precious Name in heaven or on earth.
Its very meaning –

“Jehovah is Salvation!”
“God saves!

is the greatest news any human being could ever hear.

But there’s something else.

I confess there’s strong opposition to sharing this good news…

within me.

Sometimes I’m afraid to even open my mouth.

What’s going on, here?!!

Satan’s behind this, isn’t he?

Rise up in me, Holy Spirit!

Let’s beat him.

  1. RM Says:

Sometimes I am afraid to open my mouth: Satan wants us to cower and be meek, he has twisted the definition of meek into weak, wishy-washy, timid. But when we see the infinite almighty all-holy God, we see God in everything. In the Beatitudes God means meek to mean controlled by God, not weak, not wishy-washy, timid, or passive or spineless, the one who has put their faith & trust in Jesus should be the opposite of those descriptions. The meek in the Beatitudes means if one has put their faith in Jesus Christ they are meek (controlled & humbled before God but mighty and bold before the world and before Satan. I am truly humbled before God. But thankfully God is still working to make me more perfectly controlled.
