Lazaroo – Friday, November 11, 2011
Nov 11, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in grateful awe:
“Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrong.”
(Habakkuk 1:13)
What an incredible paradox, Jesus.
You hate sin…
but You love me!
Help me understand, LORD.
When I see this huge conflict
this impossible contradiction
it makes me think I’m looking into the very depths of who You are.
When You reached down to rescue me
it had to be like plunging Your hand into a toilet bowl to prevent a diamond ring from being flushed down the sewer.
Only I was no dazzling diamond ring!
I’m still not.
If I was a diamond
I was uncut…unpolished
looking more like a misshapen lump of dirty stone
than anything anyone would ever proudly display on their finger.
But that’s exactly what You’ve done!
You are determined to continue to clean, polish and shape me
until I reflect the brilliance of your image.

being someone who is very visual, i really appreciate today’s lazaroo. the imagery is so clear and makes the impossible-ness of the situation so easy to understand. what a mystery. how does God love us so much despite the sin we allow to be a part of our lives? i hope there’s less sin today than yesterday… and even less tomorrow and the next day.
