Lazaroo – Friday, November 18, 2011

Nov 18, 2011 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, from a heart overflowing with affection:

“On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him.”
(Matthew 2:11)

I’d have given anything to tag along with these “wise men,” Jesus.

I would have, that is – if I had known what they were about to see –
who they were about to see:

You.

But not the You everybody normally thinks of –

great teacher
miracle worker
suffering in agony on the cross.

These wise men got to see You as only a handful of people ever have:

as a little boy.

If I had been there…and if I had known then what I know now…

I would have studied You for hours

Your every move
every expression
Your eyes.

I missed that.
Born too late.

I can’t study You for hours…
…but I can study with You for hours.

How dare I miss that?

What a beautiful thought seeing the Christ child with the wise men, and your description of seeing & studying everything about Him. I have always thought of when I am with Christ .. after taking in His Majesty .. then I would want to look back into the past and see my mother as a little girl and study her & watch and see what made her into the wonderful person I knew. She had so many Christ like qualities .. gentle, loving, giving. I think the Father is going to give us the liberty of seeing many things … many mysteries opened to us. Yes, His Word is always giving … & always sending us on searches and journeys into His heart, and enlarging ours.
