Lazaroo – Friday, November 20, 2009
Nov 20, 2009 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with no-holds-barred surrender:
“And God said, ‘Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind.’ And it was so.”
(Genesis 1:24)
That’s all it takes, Jesus.
You speak.
It happens.
Which means I really need to pay attention when You speak.
Everything You created is good. I’m in awe over the wonders You’ve spoken into existence –
the towering surge of an ocean wave that dwarfs a huge cargo ship
the sudden crack of lightning on a still, black summer’s night
the egg-laying, venomous beaver-tail of a duckbill platypus
the cold, craggy tip of a mountain above the tree line
the blue haze of hot gas in the Ring Nebula
the contented coo of a newborn baby
But what baffles me the most
is the word You spoke
that breathed eternal life into me.
