Lazaroo – Monday, January 3, 2011

Jan 03, 2011 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with total transparency:

“Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don’t remember if I baptized anyone else.”
(1 Corinthians 1:16)

What a wonderful thing to put in Scripture, Jesus –

Paul…forgetting who he baptized!

O God. I love it.

I forget really important things, too.

Right now, I can just imagine somebody else Paul baptized reading this letter and thinking to himself –

“How come Paul can remember Stephanas’ whole household…
but can’t remember me?

“What am I, chopped liver?”

Here we are, 2,000 years later, all of us revering the famous Apostle Paul…

while it’s a pretty safe bet there were scads of people
who went to their graves thinking Paul wasn’t all that hot.

If Facebook had existed back then

would they have blasted Paul’s insensitivity to all their friends
and felt totally justified?

Wow.

Please help me walk softly

so I don’t trash the next Apostle Paul.

  1. Paul Says:

I love it when scripture reminds me that it’s really ok to be the messed up human that I am. Thank you GOD for your grace and patience with me.
