Lazaroo – Monday, June 21, 2010
Jun 21, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with renewed hope:
“We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure.”
(2 Corinthians 1:8)
Been there, Jesus.
Oh, have I ever.
I’m no wimp.
I do my best to handle each challenge as it comes up.
But it’s when one crisis starts piling up on top of another
that I can feel the beginnings of panic start to rise up within me.
My heart pounds
my temper shortens
my breathing changes.
All it takes is one more thing –
even a tiny problem I could normally handle without batting an eyelash
and I go tilt.
When I catch that happening to me, I am so ashamed.
You’re the one who’s called me to step out of the boat
and walk on this choppy water.
It’s when I focus on the waves that I start to sink
until I fix my gaze
back on You.

A lump of coal or a diamond; both are made of the same stuff. I’m told the only difference is heat and pressure.
