Lazaroo – Monday, June 7, 2010

Jun 07, 2010 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in frank admiration:

“When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.”
(Matthew 1:24)

Is that why Your Father chose Joseph to be Your stepdad, Jesus –

because He knew Joseph would do what He told him to do, even though

He told Joseph in a dream – something that could be explained away
it was contrary to his entire lifetime of personal experience
it meant he would be falsely judged the rest of his days
it absolutely defied human reason and natural law?

Joseph was a pretty special man, wasn’t he?

the kind of man You could trust to take care of Your mother
the kind of man You would enjoy spending time with

learning his trade
learning simple trust
learning humble obedience.

That’s who I long to be, Jesus!

a person who trusts and obeys

no matter what.

Mark 6:3; Acts 5:32; Romans 15:13; 1 Corinthians 4:2; Hebrews 5:7-9; Hebrews 7:27-28; Hebrews 10:14; Hebrews 11:39-40; Hebrews 12:23-24

What is Lazaroo?

If we only had the simple faith and spirit of obedience that Joseph had….how much different would our lives be? There is so much to admire about him.

Yes I praise God that he thought of a perfect plan to redeem us all back to him. What love he has for us all even when we don’t deserve his loveGod through his awesome mercy gives it to us anyway. I love that old hymn called “Trust and Obey”. God continues to want us all just to trust and obey however, we sometimes do just the opposite in our daily worship and living for him.I thank God that he gives us a clean slate every day to try, try again. Sometimes it’s not easy but we just can’t throw up our hands and just quit! We must remember we Win!!!!!!

I’m reminded of the old hymn ” trust and obey, for there’s no other way, to be happy in Jesus, than to trust and obey.”
What a simple powerful truth to share with us Pastor!
