Lazaroo – Monday, November 12, 2012

Nov 12, 2012 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with fervid faith:

“…the battle was God’s.”
(1 Chronicles 5:22)

The battle is always Yours, Jesus.

Not that I don’t have to fight!

I do.

With all my might.
With everything in me.

If I don’t fight

I won’t win

which means You’ll go find someone else

who is willing to fight.

The secret?

You honor my effort.

When You see me out there on the battlefield
flailing away with my sword against insurmountable odds

You love to come alongside me
spur me to victory –

just so long as I never forget:

All my efforts are never enough.
Even my very best is insufficient.

So when I win…

help me get over the “I did it all by myself!” syndrome.

I didn’t.
No one does.

But admitting that in order to win I had to rely on You and the team You’ve given me doesn’t lessen my celebration.

It widens it.

This is profoundly true, Marie. You’ve done some living, haven’t you?…and some Bible reading…and some meditating on how the one illuminates the other.
