Lazaroo – Monday, November 16, 2009
Nov 16, 2009 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with keepin’-it-real faith:
“The word of the LORD that came to Zephaniah son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hezekiah…”
(Zephaniah 1:1)
Forgive me, Jesus…but my eyes usually glaze over when I read Bible passages like this.
The names are foreign to me.
They’re hard to pronounce.
Besides, nobody I know talks like this anymore.
Except…
You’ve made it clear that everything in the Bible is there for a purpose.
So – not counting historians – why does it matter
to me
who this man’s great-great grandfather was?
Unless You’re using this passage to remind me of
my roots
my ancestors
where I came from.
Suddenly this matters.
A lot.
Are You prompting me to learn more about these people whose lives are so inextricably bound to mine?
Could what You did in their lives
help me better understand
what You intend to do with me?

Nov 16, 2009, 11:18 amInteresting lazaroo this morning.I do not know all that I would like to know about my family history.I am told that back down the family tree is a preacher of the Word of God.God seems to take note of the finest details in life and bring them forword into ours.Monuments, memorials,Markers and family history.I have not paid that much attention to the family history before, but the monuments and markers God would explain their reasons for building them.I have not found a place where God has explained the reason for listing names.Maybe its time to return to my history,my family tree.( in Jesus )–Gary
