Lazaroo – Monday, September 12, 2011

Sep 12, 2011 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with total transparency:

“When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.”
(Matthew 2:10)

I love that word, Jesus –

“overjoyed” –

although the experience of –

too much joy
joy filling me up and spilling over
more joy than I can handle

is not exactly an everyday occurrence in my world.

Some of my days are so brutal that I don’t even get to crack a smile.

Still, I soldier on…
because I know that’s going to change.

Years ago, there was a king who was overjoyed

when he learned You had rescued Daniel from the lions’ den.

Your disciples were overjoyed

when You first appeared to them after Your resurrection.

Friends of the Apostle Peter were overjoyed

when Your angel rescued him from prison and certain death.

And one day in heaven

when I see You with my own eyes
in all of Your glory

I too will be

thrillingly
stunningly
speechlessly

overjoyed.

    Love this!
Reminder of a hymn we use to sing written by B.E. Warren “It is joy unspeakable and full of glory, full of glory, full of glory Oh, the half has never yet been told. ”

1 Peter 1:8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible (unspeakable King James) and glorious joy.

Can only imagine what joy when we actually behold his beautiful face…even the anticipation brings inexpressable joy! Come Lord, come!
