He’s so concerned about how John’s letter

might affect what others think of him
might drop him a notch in the pecking order

that he blows off a letter from one of the most towering spiritual figures of all time

a letter dictated by You
to become part of the Holy Bible
that has sustained Your people
for thousands of years.

To call that a stupid move

would be way too high a compliment.

Uh-huh.

overlooking
dismissing
selling short
