Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with a rush of renewed hope:

“For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed…”
(Romans 1:17)

That’s why Your gospel is “good news,” Jesus –

You’re not asking me to be good on my own.

I can’t.

Not that I haven’t tried.

I have tried, LORD – You know that! –
over and over and over again.

There were times when I thought I had this thing figured out.

But they didn’t last.
I ended up right back where I was before.

No…that’s not quite right.

Not as good as before.
Worse off.

That’s what repeated failure has done to me –

taken away my desire to try again.

But giving up isn’t an option!

If I do, it’s all over.

When I stare at that brick wall…

consider forever turning my back
on what I might have been…

something rises within me.

No.

Not “something.”

Someone.

You.

I’m not alone.
We can do this thing.

Together.
