Lazaroo – Saturday, January 26, 2013

Jan 26, 2013 I Lazaroo.

Dive deeper, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:

“He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine…”
(Titus 1:9)

You keep calling me back to Your Word, don’t You, Jesus?

but not merely a thick book of 1,000+ pages.

You desire me to embrace the “sound doctrine” that is Your Word…

You don’t want me to simply read my Bible.

You want me to grasp its meaning.

You don’t want me to merely memorize a verse of the Bible – as wonderful as that is!

You’re urging me to place that verse
alongside the Bible’s 41,172 other verses.

You’re inspiring me to recognize
their miraculous, beautiful harmony.

You’re challenging me to identify the life-changing themes

that run through the 39 books of the Old Testament
the 27 books of the New Testament

their 1,189 chapters
774,746 words.

and order my life accordingly.

Psalms 119:152; Isaiah 8:20; Daniel 9:1-3; Matthew 22:29; Matthew 26:50-54; Luke 8:19-21; Luke 16:19-31; Romans 9:6; 2 Timothy 2:8-10; Hebrews 5:11-14

What is Lazaroo?

Earlier this week I read in my BSF notes that we must not be too casual with the Lord in our posture. This verse goes right along with that reminder…we need to stay in His Word, all the time, studying more & more until it becomes like breathing for us…not casually reading for a few minutes.
    Thanks for this good reminder!
