“Judas…served as guide for those who arrested Jesus…was one of our number and shared in this ministry.”

People love to name their children after Your disciples, Jesus –

Andrew
Philip
Thomas

Thad
Peter

except nobody

names their son “Judas.”

Only a totally ignorant – or twisted – person would do that.

It wasn’t surprising that someone turned You over to those authorities who wanted to kill You.

You had enemies beyond number.

What had to cut You to the bone was that Judas was one of the Twelve –

the most honored men in the history of the world –
who for three years got to spend every day with You.

You chose him
loved him
poured Your life into him

and still he betrayed You.

You’ve chosen me
loved me
poured Your life into me.

May my devotion

help heal what Judas did to You.
