Lazaroo – Saturday, July 2, 2011

Jul 02, 2011 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with eager anticipation:

“O LORD, are you not from everlasting? My God, my Holy One, we will not die.”
(Habakkuk 1:12)

What a bold statement of faith, Jesus.

Here’s this prophet, facing disaster…

but right in the middle of expressing his terror
he hits the “pause” button long enough to say:

Everything’s going to be all right.

He’s not basing that belief on anything that’s happening –
everything around him looks like it’s coming apart.

He’s basing it solely on what He knows about You.

Obviously, he doesn’t mean people won’t die on earth.

The evidence for that harsh reality is all around him.

But because You live forever

he believes Your promise
that those who trust in You will live forever in heaven.

That’s who I want to be –

someone who bases my every

thought
word
action

not on what’s happening around me

but on what I know about You.

Worse happenings or our simple doubts and foolish problems. Our goal always .. no matter what … I want that too every thought word action .. not on what’s happening around me but on what I know about God. Everything is going to be all right .. and it was .. and it will be!
