It was all on the line for Esther, wasn’t it, Jesus?

to become the queen
or be discarded.

It didn’t matter how hard she tried.

Sometimes a person can try too hard.

It didn’t matter how much good coaching she received.

Sometimes you just don’t have what it takes.

But the king was pleased!
He chose her!

You made him do it.
Esther had a job to do.

So do I, LORD.

With all my heart
I long for You to be pleased.
