Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in holy awe:

“…who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.”
(Romans 1:4)

“Son of God!”

That’s what Your followers and even the demons called You.

But You seldom called Yourself by this lofty title, Jesus –

though You had every right.

In fact, the only time You called Yourself Son of God

was when it cost You Your life.

Mostly – perhaps to draw us near to You and not cause us to shrink away in fear –

You called Yourself the “Son of man.”

But Son of God You absolutely were

and are
and always will be!

Not because it was what You called Yourself

Not because it was what others called You

But because it was forever declared with power

when You once for all defeated

death

hell

and the grave.
