“God handed the Hagrites and all their allies over to them…”
(1 Chronicles 5:20)

You can do that, can’t You, Jesus?

Hand them over – millions of people –
just like that.

It doesn’t require some long, drawn-out incantation
no smoke and mirrors
no drama.

You can do it with one word
a single thought

and poof!

they’re history
totally helpless
undone.

Of course, You almost never do that.

All that power…seldom used

even though we beg for it
incessantly.

Why?

Is it because it turns Your people into mere spectators
giving us no chance to

stretch
grow
struggle
learn
lose
overcome?

I’ve asked You countless times to work a miracle because of some crisis I was going through.

Most of the time You’ve said no –
either that, or You’ve performed Your miracles incognito.

That’s okay.
I understand.
I trust You.

But this time…

I really do need a blatant miracle.
