Might want to take a glance in the mirror after you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:

“Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an impure spirit cried out…”
(Mark 1:23)

This is the one I don’t see coming, isn’t it, Jesus?

I expect to find people with impure spirits in bars

at ball games
in business
at the mall
in politics
on the street
at the movies
on the Internet

but I don’t expect to find them in church.

I keep forgetting Your Church is not just a rest home for saints.

It’s a hospital for sinners.

So I don’t know why I’m so shocked to find this many of them here…

but I am –

especially when I see them in positions of authority
volunteering their time and talents
serving here, there – everywhere I look

acting like they belong.

Something needs to be done about all these flawed people in the church, LORD!

starting with me.
