Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in extravagant worship:

“…Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace…”
(Matthew 1:19)

Your stepfather was an amazing man, Jesus.

When he first learned Your mother was pregnant with You, he had no idea God was Your Father.  The fact that this was a virgin conception never entered his mind.

He only knew it wasn’t him.

He had to be heartbroken, his dreams destroyed, his trust in his bride-to-be shattered.

According to the Law, he could have demanded that his fiancé be stoned for her apparent “unfaithfulness” to him.

But he didn’t.

He just wanted to protect her.

No wonder Your Heavenly Father chose this man to watch over You!

Make me like him, Jesus.

Help me be the kind of person who puts aside my own hurt…

…and focuses instead on healing the hurts of others.
