Lazaroo – Sunday, July 26, 2009

Jul 26, 2009 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with lavish gratitude:

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ…who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.”
(2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

Thanks for this reminder, Jesus.

You don’t promise to spare me from trouble.

If You did that, I’d be a mile wide and an inch deep.

There’d be nothing to me – I’d be proud, naïve, heartless, shallow, uncaring.

I’d be eaten up with sin.

So that’s why You’ve brought this trouble into my life.

For my benefit.

That’s my comfort, isn’t it?

I’m not going through some dumb suffering that has no point.

You’re making me more like You.

Thank You.

Knowing that this pain brings with it a huge payoff makes it a little more bearable.

Now show me…

….with whom else do You want me to share the  comfort of this powerful insight?

Wow, I am so touched by this message and both the comments above. Thank you, God, for your message from Steve and for the sharing from both of these folks who are going through so much right now. I am sending my prayers to You, Dear God, for all concerned. Amen

This really hit home for me today. I cried. God has really been working on me and my life and helping me to see he is always right there for me, no matter what. This verse above spoke right to me and the emotional place I am at right now. Suffering in your life can be so scary, but knowing the reward that God has in store for you on the other side is such a comfort. I am grateful for everything in my life right now, all of it, the good and the bad. All of it is God given and in my life for a reason. Thank you God for always teaching me and giving me a chance to grow and experience. You are training me to share those experiences with others. I have always wondered what my God given talent or gift was and I think I may now know..I am a Social Worker and while I was crying a few minutes ago I thought and wondered God? Is my work with clients preparing me for another purpose? Is it mission work? I think it just might be. That would be awesome! Bring it on God, I want to share with others your awesome love! Amen.

Wow…that one really hit home. These always come at just the right time. Its like it was wrote just for me. My family and I have been through some rough times in the past few months with my wife being diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. But I think it has done nothing but strengthened my faith in God and my wife’s. She has been so strong thoughout all of this and we both have realized that she is not going through this for nothing. We pray every day for God to give us strength, wisdom, and the knowledge to bring awareness and faith to whomever we can. I can not imagine going through this without knowing that God has a plan for her. Her full story can be read here: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/tabithagibson
