Lazaroo – Thursday, August 29, 2013
Aug 29, 2013 I Lazaroo.Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with over-the-top trust:
“You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen…”
(Ezekiel 2:7)
That’s not the way my protective instincts work, Jesus.
If I know in advance that someone’s not going to listen
I don’t want to tell them what they don’t want to hear.
But when it comes to obeying You, I’ve got to overrule all instincts, don’t I?
Not just this one.
Apparently, You will sometimes send me to deliver an unpopular message to someone – or to many “someones” – for Your own reasons.
Maybe it’s so they will hear it now
obey it later.
Or, maybe…
it’s to leave them with no excuse
when their disobedience sends them hurtling off a cliff.

Sometimes it’s like John the Baptist, crying out in the wilderness .. some will listen, others will pass right by.
