Lazaroo – Thursday, January 23, 2014

Jan 23, 2014 I Lazaroo.

With deep conviction, pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud to God:

“…you have not set your heart to honor me.”
(Malachi 2:2)

There’s a difference, isn’t there, Jesus –

between honoring You when I feel like it
when it’s convenient
when You do something I like
when someone

inspires
pushes
guilts me into it

and setting my heart to honor You

at all times
no matter what.

The one is conditional –

based on my emotions
my limited understanding.

The other is nothing less than total trust in You.

This day
from this moment forward:

I set my heart to honor You.

  1. Jeff Gregory Says:

This is tricky, isn’t it? We struggle with God – with our understanding of Him and His will. It is easy for the frail mind of human beings to constantly struggle with God honoring (or seemingly not honoring) His promises to us. Add to that, the pressure the world puts on us about the lack of proof of God’s own existence; and confusion and doubt takes a stronger hold. In light of this, we are supposed set our hearts to honor Him? That seems like too tall of an order for most of us.

That is why God is supernatural and so must our relationship be with Him. We should take the pressure off of ourselves and allow God to work out our hearts. All we need to do is surrender, We can set our hearts to honor Him merely by surrendering to Him.
