Lazaroo – Thursday, May 31, 2012

May 31, 2012 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with renewed resolve:

“…foreigners entered his gates…”
(Obadiah 1:11)

It’s exciting to meet people from other countries, Jesus.

Normally.

Different cultures, languages, skin colors, clothing, foods –

all testifying to the variety of Your creation.

But this was no friendly visit, was it?

This was an invasion.

Suddenly, all those differences weren’t enjoyable –

not when they were being stuffed down their throats.

It would be one thing to travel to a foreign country and discover I hated it.

If that happened, the sights, smells and sounds
would make me incredibly homesick.

I couldn’t wait to get back to my own world!

But if ruthless foreigners swept into my homeland
raping, pillaging, murdering along the way

I’d be trapped
nowhere to run.

That’s not completely unlike the culture war that’s bearing down on me even as we speak, is it?

I am so, so, so, so glad:

This world is not my home.

(Agree with Joe – Can’t shrink back. )

    Be Strong
Written in the Lord’s service 8/12/207
    Ephesians 6:10, Matthew 11:12

Pressed on every side the battle rages on
    Fear cries “Run and hide”,
    Faith shouts, “The battle’s won”.
With His sword firm in our hand – with full armor on
    Soldier, go possess the land
Step up, stand out, Be Strong!

Violent men take it by force
Don’t let His light grow dim
Keep in step, remain the course
    Affix your eyes on Him
With Him He brings perfect peace
    Admidst the heat of war
    Though fighting may increase (remember)
    “The battle is the Lord’s!”

In victory, stand up and fight
    Trust Him and obey!
Walk by faith and not by sight
    Until that blessed day
    Together we’ll behold Him
We’ll meet Him in the clouds
Keep alert, stand guard and listen
    A shout, a trumpet sound.

Be Strong, be strong, be strong!
    (Empowered in His might)
Be Strong, be strong, be strong!
    (Stand firm, shine His light)
