Lazaroo – Thursday, November 18, 2010
Nov 18, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with renewed determination:
“…he must be…not quick-tempered…”
(Titus 1:7)
It makes me so angry the moment someone suggests I’m quick-tempered!
Just kidding, Jesus.
I know You have a sense of humor
or You would have turned me into a burnt cinder long ago.
But at bottom, this is no laughing matter, is it?
My anger doesn’t bring about the righteous life You desire.
When I give in to my anger, it gives Satan a foothold in my life.
I’m far more likely to sin
far more likely to stir up trouble for others
making me an unsafe friend, coworker, family member.
You haven’t told me never to get angry.
You’ve told me to be angry…
and not sin.
So if You’re slow to get angry –
and You’re my example –
I’ve got to be slow to get angry, too
which means
I’d better be quick to listen
and slow to speak.
