Lazaroo – Thursday, October 29, 2009

Oct 29, 2009 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with pure devotion:

“Why should you be beaten anymore? Why do you persist in rebellion?”
(Isaiah 1:5)

This is one reason I suffer, Jesus.

Too much of the time I want my own way so badly that the only time I pray

is to ask Your blessing on what I’ve already decided.

I know.

Prescription for disaster.

You’re not about to tag along while one of your headstrong, ignorant children takes the lead!

But that’s not the only reason I suffer, is it?

Sometimes I suffer for the same reason You did when You walked this earth.

You were a man of sorrows, deeply acquainted with grief. You were

hated
beaten
cursed
rejected
mocked
crucified
whipped
opposed
despised

because You were right.

because You wouldn’t compromise, back off or back down.

Either way, I’m going to take my lumps.

It is the cry of my heart

to take them with You.
