Lazaroo – Tuesday, August 18, 2009
Aug 18, 2009 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in holy fear:
“If sinners entice you, do not give in to them.”
(Proverbs 1:10)
This one’s tricky, Jesus.
When I see the word, “sinners” I tend to think of murderers, rapists, drug dealers and thieves.
But the truth is, everybody’s a sinner.
Including me.
Which means Satan attempts to use every person with whom I come into contact to entice me to sin.
Even if I don’t think of them as “sinners” –
my family
my friends
my leaders
my neighbors
my coworkers
my trusted authors
my favorite singers
my television shows
my fellow worshippers
Most of them wouldn’t dream of enticing me to sin
except in that one area of weakness
where they’d like someone to join them
so they don’t feel so bad.
They may not call it sin.
But if it is…
help me see it clearly.
And kindly, humbly, but firmly
say no.

Mary Ann Says:
Gave me something to think about as well — especially in the areas of complaining and not thinking the best then speaking the best of others and with others. I struggle with sin in the area of my mouth. I wish I could remember before I open it that I will have to give an accounting of every thing I ever said on Judgment Day. Of course, things that come from the mouth originate in our thoughts/ hearts. More to think about. Thanks, Pastor Steve.
