Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with spiritual insight:

“I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened…”
(Ephesians 1:18)

Wow.

My heart has eyes.

I don’t usually think of my heart this way, Jesus.

Maybe I should.

Obviously, when you refer to my “heart”
You’re not talking about the organ that pumps my blood.

You’re talking about who I really am –

my very essence
the real me, inside.

I wonder…

Do I depend too much on my natural eyes?
Do they somehow interfere with my spiritual vision?

Am I so fixated on what is right in front of my nose
that I’m unable to see with eyes of faith?

If so, I’ve got to deliberately change my focus

adjust my lens until what is temporary fades
and what is eternal comes sharply into view

Heal my spiritual cataracts!

Help me peer straight through these cloudy illusions

until I clearly see
what You see.
