Lazaroo – Tuesday, December 8, 2009

Dec 08, 2009 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with catalytic dedication:

“I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother; you were very dear to me. Your love for me was wonderful, more wonderful than that of women.”
(2 Samuel 1:26)

Thank You for showing me this, Jesus –

a glimpse into David’s heart when it was ripped open by the death of Jonathan.

Jonathan risked his life for David

defended David against his own father

remained loyal even when he knew doing so might make David king instead of Jonathan.

No wonder David called Jonathan’s love “more wonderful than that of women.”

Unlike the false charges leveled by some, that heartfelt cry had nothing to do with homosexuality – a sin you call “detestable.”

Instead, David’s words serve as a painful reminder

that most people go their entire lives
without finding even one totally selfless friend like Jonathan –
man or woman!

O God.

Please help me

be a friend like Jonathan.
