Lazaroo – Tuesday, February 19, 2013
Feb 19, 2013 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in renewed humility:
“You should not look down on your brother in the day of his misfortune…”
(Obadiah 1:12)
Why do I do that, Jesus?
I don’t mean to.
I’m the last person in the world who should.
But all too often, I’m guilty as charged.
I see somebody who’s lost his job
and wonder what he did to deserve it
rather than stopping to consider
that the fault may lie with his boss.
I see some mother with a disobedient child
and conclude it’s due to her failure as a parent
rather than taking into account
the free will of that child.
I see someone who’s grossly overweight
and conclude they’re a glutton
rather than recognizing the painful battle
they may be fighting every day of their lives.
Forgive me for my harsh judgment of others, LORD!
I’m sowing seed
I really don’t want to reap.
