Lazaroo – Tuesday, July 20, 2010

Jul 20, 2010 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with heart-saving recognition:

“Hear the word of the LORD, you rulers of Sodom; listen to the law of our God, you people of Gomorrah! ‘The multitude of your sacrifices – what are they to me?’ says the LORD. ‘I have more than enough of burnt offerings, of rams and the fat of fattened animals; I have no pleasure in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats.’”
(Isaiah 1:10-11)

This had to terrify Your people, Jesus!

You called them “Sodom and Gomorrah” –

after cities so wicked that You wiped them off the face of the earth.

When You told them to stop bringing You sacrifices

it must have felt to them
as though they no longer had access to You.

But that wasn’t true.

What You were sick to death of was the same thing you hate in me:

going through the motions of worship

while my heart is far from You.
