Lazaroo – Tuesday, July 20, 2010

Jul 20, 2010 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with heart-saving recognition:

“Hear the word of the LORD, you rulers of Sodom; listen to the law of our God, you people of Gomorrah! ‘The multitude of your sacrifices – what are they to me?’ says the LORD. ‘I have more than enough of burnt offerings, of rams and the fat of fattened animals; I have no pleasure in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats.’”
(Isaiah 1:10-11)

This had to terrify Your people, Jesus!

You called them “Sodom and Gomorrah” –

after cities so wicked that You wiped them off the face of the earth.

When You told them to stop bringing You sacrifices

it must have felt to them
as though they no longer had access to You.

But that wasn’t true.

What You were sick to death of was the same thing you hate in me:

going through the motions of worship

while my heart is far from You.

Isaiah 29:13; Jeremiah 2:4-5; Ezekiel 44:9-10; Matthew 6:2-8; Matthew 15:7-10; Matthew 23:13-39; Matthew 24:45-51; Mark 7:8-13; Luke 13:10-17

What is Lazaroo?

Dear Jeff: We all have sometime or other have disappointed God by our behaviors. But when you consider God’s grace and mercy is new everyday, then you should focus on the brand new slate that God’s gives you Ken. .Without God’s forgiveness, how very sad we as Christians would we really be. May it never be said of us that ” these people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.”
Why does the heart of man stray, even while supposedly worshiping God? I surely do not understand myself knowing full well what the Lord has done for me.
Woe unto me, for I am a man who is guilty of diappointing the One who has saved my soul from the pit. O God, forgive me !!
