Lazaroo – Tuesday, July 29, 2014

Jul 29, 2014 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in deepest gratitude:

“I will betroth you in faithfulness…”
(Hosea 2:20)

I love this, Jesus!

When a man asks a woman to marry him

and she says yes

they enter into a sacred contract with each other
before You.

They’re not married – not yet.
They are not to enjoy the rights of marriage – not yet.

But they’ve made each other a life-altering promise
each is counting on the other to keep.

Do some people break their engagement?

But even though I fail You ten billion times before that great wedding celebration in heaven

You never will.

I couldn’t agree more that our focus should not be tabulating sins, Marty! Thank God for His priceless gift of grace! On the other hand, you’re right. I am doing my best to live up to His standard: “If you love me, you will obey what I command.” Oh, how I long to love Him as He desires to be loved!

If a believer “fails” this many times, I am wondering what your standard is – maybe that’s why you “fail” so many times. If you’re trying to “live up” to a “standard”, is it possible you are not fully walking in grace, and instead are still mixing the law and grace?

Ours is a faith walk, where He has already performed – and performed perfectly – resting in that finished performance and in that consciousness rather than sin consciousness, sin management, and sin tabulating is a far more freeing and easier walk- with the added benefit of actually sinning less.
