Lazaroo – Tuesday, June 19, 2012

Jun 19, 2012 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with soul-searching integrity:

“Yes, the men came to me, but I did not know where they had come from. At dusk, when it was time to close the city gate, the men left. I don’t know which way they went. Go after them quickly. You may catch up with them.” (But she had taken them up to the roof and hidden them under the stalks of flax she had laid out on the roof.)”
(Joshua 2:4-6)

She lied, Jesus.

She flat-out lied.

In so doing, she saved the lives of Your spies.

Since they were on mission for you, did You excuse her lie?
Even reward it?

Apparently so.

By lying, she saved her own life and that of her family.

Does this mean I can lie when I’m on mission for You?

Something tells me I’d better walk softly on this one…

since the rule is:

All liars go to hell.

Rahab was a Pagan prostitute she didn’t have the wisdom that a lie was wrong in Gods eyes .. but had faith in the Israelite’s God who had accomplished great things and saved Gods people. It also took bravery because she risked her own life in doing this. But for Christians, God is God and if He decides to make a different decision for different reasons, so be it! 🙂 He did for Abraham and David . But think it would be a good idea to follow His rules as best as our meager minds can do so. I tremble when I think of Uzzah who touched the Ark of the Covenant, and was trying to help, but he knew the Ark was not to be touched. And God knows our minds .. maybe that is the answer to some of these scripture that makes us wonder, but ultimately leads us to pray for help to follow Him as He desires .. He who is so very very high and who deserves our submission in all that He commands. Yes, I think walking softly is a good way to go. 🙂
