Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, asking God to free your mind from illusion:

“…everyone in Esau’s mountains will be cut down in the slaughter.”
(Obadiah 1:9)

They thought they were safe, didn’t they, Jesus?

way up there in the mountains
hidden in the caves and rocks
untouchable.

From there they looked down on all the vulnerable people in the valley below, small as ants, scurrying around –

despised them
pitied them
laughed at them.

They felt a rush of pride.

They had figured it out
planned ahead.

Yes, life was easier way down there in the valley

but it was also more dangerous –
nowhere to hide.

But up here, there were innumerable places to hide.

They had climbed this mountain
paid the price –
and now it had paid off.

They were safe.

But they weren’t!

Neither am I in the mountains

of working hard
saving for a rainy day
exercising regularly
eating right.

I am safe

in You alone.
