Lazaroo – Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Mar 01, 2011 I Lazaroo.

Open wide your heart, as you pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud to God:

“If you bring a grain offering of firstfruits to the LORD, offer crushed heads of new grain roasted in the fire.”
(Leviticus 2:14)

Wheat harvest was such an exciting time –

all that work for so many months – and finally!
fresh bread, delicious roasted grain

but not yet –

not a bite of bread
not one kernel popped into their mouths

until they had first selected the very best of the grain
and offered it up to You.

What a poignant reminder of who it was who gave them

the seed they planted
the ground in which they planted it
the sun that warmed the earth
the rain that fell, seeping down to awaken the seed
the strength to plant, weed, fertilize and harvest the grain.

That’s the way I want to live, Jesus –

putting You first in everything

to remind me that it

all
all
all

comes from You.
