Lazaroo – Tuesday, March 29, 2011

Mar 29, 2011 I Lazaroo.

Allow the Word of God to rock your world as you pray this Lazaroo aloud to Your Creator:

“…let the king give her royal position to someone else who is better than she.”
(Esther 1:19)

I bristle when I read words like these, Jesus.

How dare some holier-than-thou group of leaders
get together and advise their king to get rid of his queen
and replace her with another woman who was

At least…that’s how I feel.

But the truth is, You reveal in Your Word

that some people are better than others.

Knock me over with a toothpick.

You’re aware, of course…

this is not politically correct.

But then, neither is a great portion of Your Word.

It’s not my job to conform You

to my culture.

It’s my job to conform myself

to You.

So instead of defending the values this world has taught me

maybe I’d be a whole lot wiser to work on getting

The more I hear and follow God’s truth, I am driven to my knees to submit to this very reality. I am pleading with my God for the strength and grace to resist the temptation to conform to this world and it’s values and instead to be transformed by Him into His holy character, so as to become the “better” man by His standards, regardless of how unpopluar that makes me with the world’s in-crowd.
As you said this is not a politically correct prayer, and by far it will not be a popular prayer these days, but I am thankful that you (my leader) are leading me in this prayer and I join my voice with yours I am requesting that in view of God’s mercy, I will daily offer my body a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God .. for Jesus name, fo His glory, and for His will done in me … Amen.
