Lazaroo – Tuesday, May 1, 2012

May 01, 2012 I Lazaroo.

Ask God for His calming peace, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:

“…we ask you, brothers, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed…”
(2 Thessalonians 2:1-2)

That’s pretty much the definition of maturity, isn’t it, Jesus?

You don’t want me to become easily unsettled

by rumors
wild predictions
changing circumstances.

I’m not supposed to allow myself to be alarmed

by threats
powerful enemies
the latest attack from Satan.

Of course, nobody starts out that mature.

It’s no surprise when a new believer gets rattled
feels stunned by the vicious nature of spiritual warfare.

You’ve given me clear warning:

There will be brutal times ahead.

I’m called to take up my own cross
and follow You.

But over time, my frantic, panicky, kneejerk response has to change, doesn’t it?

The longer I walk with You
the more stable I should become.

The better I know the Captain of my ship
the less need I will feel

to rock the boat.

Thanks I needed this .. mature or not. We need to be more settled in our Saviors always loving and faithful hands. And even though He has trained us up in his love, through difficult times – we have also been rocked lovingly into peaceful times .. but always need to be responsive to his calming an sure presence no matter how things change in life and they will.
