Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with renewed dedication:

“Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care…”
(1 Peter 1:10)

Some people believe You’re going to do it all for them, Jesus.

They think their job is to sit back and wait on You
to drop it in their laps.

Others believe it all depends on them.

“I make my own luck,” they say.
“If I don’t make it happen, it won’t happen.”

Your prophets teach me differently.
There’s another way.

Even though You spoke directly to them
and through them

Even though You answered their prayers
worked amazing miracles at their request

they still did their homework. They –

“searched intently and with the greatest care.”

They gave it everything they had.

They worked harder than most –

not because they thought it all depended on them
but because they knew firsthand:

You’re real.
