Lazaroo – Tuesday, November 17, 2009

Nov 17, 2009 I Lazaroo.

Open a vein and bleed the words of this Lazaroo aloud to God:

“‘You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why?’ declares the LORD Almighty. ‘Because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with his own house.’”
(Haggai 1:9)

These are strong words, Jesus.

But down deep, I know they’re true.

You’ve commanded me to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness. But to that command You’ve also attached a promise:

If I put You first

You will take care of all my personal needs, as well.

Now, You’re reminding me the reverse is also true:

If I put myself first, not only will Your house “remain a ruin…”

but my self-centered, me-first attitude will blow up in my face.

You’ve given me double incentive to put You first.

If I do it, I win.

If I refuse, I lose.

God help me do it!

Greetings; It is like putting God ” as the tail & and not the head “. I remember in my younger years, when teams would be chosen ( basket ball, soft ball ect..) and I would be chosen last.I hated that feeling, knowing that the choices were getting less and less, and finally I got chosen–last!!! As a small boy, that really hurt. Back to the lazaroo.I wonder if Jesus played in the childhood games? GOD seems to be put off until last ( that hurts ). HIS house was last.Greed, self indulgence, day after day of ” me-me, I-I “. Lord,Forgive me for making You the tail and not the head. Gary.
