Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with bottomless trust:

“…while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs…”
(Genesis 2:21)

Pretty sneaky of You, Jesus.

You cause Adam to fall into a deep sleep
then You take something from him without his permission
without his knowledge.

There was no way for Adam to know when he fell asleep that he was about to lose a rib – something pretty important to him.

But, oh, when he awoke!

You turned what he lost…
into the most precious gift of his life.

You’ve taken some things from me, too, LORD.

But that’s okay.
I trust what you’re going to do with them.
